The Graphis Poster Annual features the year's most compelling work from thousands of international entries. This year, Thirst was honored with not only a Platinum award for the IN Light IN series, but two Silvers for the SAIC Fall 2016 Lecture Poster and the STA 100 Poster, and a Merit for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra MusicNOW series.

First launched in 1978, The STA 100 Competition is bigger and better than ever. The Society of Typographic Arts seeks to honor the best 100 examples of communication design that utilize innovative typography and design from around the world.
This competition celebrates the best use of typography as the primary visual element in design and advertising, plus new typeface designs, calligraphy and hand lettering. Winners are chosen by a jury of leading design professionals, and the selected entries are distributed worldwide in the Communication Arts Typography Annual.

The Graphis Poster Annual is a prestigious competition drawing thousands of entries from around the world, and each year the winning posters are published in a volume with same title. Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, was first published in 1944 by Dr. Walter Amstutz and Walter Herdeg in Zurich, Switzerland. Amstutz selectively chose to present what he felt to be the best talent of the time, with the Graphis Annual introduced in 1952.

The TDC Communication Design Competition is hosted annually to celebrate excellence in typography. The selected work travels the world in a series of eight exhibitions, and is published in a volume (Typography 37), which serves as the catalog for the exhibitions.

New Visual Artists is Print’s annual issue that spotlights 20 outstanding up-and-coming artists in the fields of graphic design, advertising, illustration, fine art, photography, interactive and so on. Every year, Print profiles rising stars who are all under the age of 30. Each featured artist earned their spot, as NVAs are nominated by art directors or other industry professionals and final selections are made by our committee.
The medal of AIGA—the most distinguished in the field—is awarded to individuals in recognition of their exceptional achievements, services or other contributions to the field of design and visual communication.
The Honorary Member Award is the equivalent of the Society of Typographic Arts' Lifetime Achievement Award. It is bestowed upon high profile designers who have made unique, lasting and noteworthy contributions to the field of professional graphic design, nationally or internationally.
The Fellow Award program is a means of recognizing mature designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within the Chicago design community and within AIGA Chicago. The areas of education, writing, leadership and reputation, as well as the practice of design are given equal consideration in measuring significance. Chapter Fellows are listed at AIGA.org and honored at the AIGA Awards, held each year in New York.
